DONA certified postpartum doula care serving families on the seacoast of New Hampshire and Southern Maine.
My name is Tegan Goodridge, postpartum doula and mother of four. I just love pregnant women and all the excitement and new beginnings when a baby is brought into the world.
A postpartum doula is a someone who supports and helps a family adjust to bringing home a new baby. What an exciting and nervous time for a new mom and family. A postpartum doula can be there in the families home to help with the transition and ease into parenthood.
Raising your child is personal. My main job as your postpartum doula is to work myself out of a job!
This means that my role is to help you find your way own way as a new parent, easing your transition into this new role. This might include helping you breastfeed your baby with confidence, supporting you through postpartum depression or the baby blues, soothing your recovery from a cesarean birth, or teaching you the ropes of bathing a slippery newborn and washing cloth diapers. Regardless, our time together will provide you with the information and skills you need to have a healthy birth as a new family.
“My husband, my baby, and I all loved having Tegan as our postpartum doula. Having her present in those first weeks felt like having a close, nonjudgmental, knowledgeable, family friend come to help out. We are so grateful to have her work with us. I highly recommend Tegan – she will definitely significantly improve your postpartum experience!”
